Ancient culture, unique geography, diverse communities, different traditions and practices, ancient heritage and influences from neighboring countries have shaped Indian culture. The Indus Valley Civilization has witnessed an extraordinary evolution during the Vedic period. Since then the rise and fall of Buddhism, the golden age, India’s subordination to Muslim rule, and the evolution of Europe during the colonial rule have further diversified. India’s great religious practices, languages, customs and traditions have witnessed its uniqueness over the last five thousand years. Indian culture, which is a combination of different religions and traditions, has influenced other cultures of the world. ಪುರಾತನ ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಅನನ್ಯ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ರಚನೆ, ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಜನ ಸಮುದಾಯ, ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು, ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾವಗಳು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿವೆ. ಸಿಂಧೂ ಕಣಿವೆ ನಾಗರಿಕತೆ ಯಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ವೇದಗಳ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ವಿಕಸನ ಕಂಡಿತು. ಇದಾದ ನಂತರ ಬೌದ್ಧ ಧರ್ಮದ ಉನ್ನತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನತಿ, ಸುವರ್ಣ ಯುಗ, ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ ಭಾರತ ಅಧೀನವಾದದ್ದು ಹಾಗೂ ಯುರೋಪಿಯನ್ನರ ವಸಾಹತು ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಿಕಸನ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯವಾಯಿತು. ಭಾರತದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು, ಭಾಷೆಗಳು, ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳು ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಇದರ ಅನನ್ಯತೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ವಿವಿಧ ಧರ್ಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜನೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ವಿಶ್ವದ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರಿದೆ.
